"Otto ceramics, with their deep volcanic glazes and vibrant colours are among the most striking objects to emerge from the modern European design movement." Dr. Graham Cooley

Handcrafted Art Pottery

"Our Fat Lava pottery pieces are renowned for their vivid colors, ranging from fiery reds and oranges to deep blues and earthy browns. The glazes, are applied generously and often dripped or layered, creating a three-dimensional effect that resembled molten lava. This organic and sculptural quality makes each piece a unique work of art." Otto Gerharz.

“I value the unpredictable elements inherent in ceramics. The process involves surrendering control to the chemical reactions of glazes during kiln firing, yielding one-of-a-kind creations. This inherent uncertainty contributes a distinctive quality to my work.” Otto Gerharz.
